| The School District of the City of Highland Park
is a 2.98-square-mile district of classic urban demographics and
small-town size, in the historic enclave city just a few minutes from
colleges, universities, and cultural attractions in the surrounding city
of Detroit. The Highland Park school system serves 2,704 K-12
students, another 1,400 students at Highland Park Career Academy (for
16-19
year olds), and 516 students in Adult Education. The District includes two K-8 and one K-5 elementary schools, one 9-12 High School and an Adult Education/Career Academy which attracts students from all over Wayne County. Highland Park is a regional leader in numbers of students it attracts under the local-option School of Choice provision and welcomes all Wayne County students desiring a quality education.
